1. Why would you pay $50 for something you get on Multiply for free? 1GB storage, photos and more... and multi-messaging kicks e-mail's ass any day of the week.

3. David - Two reason (for starters): 1) On Multiply you don't own your own domain name 2) dotMP's dynamic 'device detection' provides the easiest and most seamless way to publish to the mobile internet.... Not a bad deal for $50/year. /m

I love that I got my family name for this TLD. And a short and hard-to-get one too.

Actually, I was going to use the URL to forward to my site, like Russell Beattie did with Russ.mp. But his was a High-end Corporate plan, which allows forwarding (he didn't know it at the time either, it was a complimentary account given him by the dotmp guys). But the personal plan, like mine, doesn't allow it.

Ah well. I would still use it as a journal. While the blogging tools are still kinda thin and beta-ish, they work (I have been spoiled by Typepad), still for US$50, it is hard to beat.
