2. First: Will, who are you? That's quite a serious comment, and I cannot find any information about you from Google. I'm concerned about the possibility of psuedonyms being used for slander.

Second: Sean is the architect of Plaxo. Love it, hate it, ignore it, or use it; he's responsible for both the huge adoption and good updating features, and the ton of eMail generated. Given that everyone pays attention to Plaxo because of its huge presence, I find that Sean (whether you like the eMail update feature and/or volume or not) is a substantial internet visionary. He understands viral distribution on the web extremely well; Plaxo's success shows it; it's laughable to think that he would be expelled from Plaxo for huge volume of successful distribution.

I'm not "Will" the original poster, and I haven't met Sean, but having been to the Plaxo office, I can volunteer that there is no lack of either ego or running mouths over there.

Don't know anyone on this thread, but I gotta admit that getting ousted from two horrifically (is this a word--it should be...) successful viral marketing schemes is pretty tough. The kid (23, right?) has gotta have brains. Shit, I'd love to be able to raise 10's of millions of dollars to do the type of stuff he does.
Either way, Parker ended up with the short end of the stick at Napster--Fanning got all the fame. After creating the vision which is Plaxo (love it, hate it), it sucks to have the same thing happen again...

5. This is the 2nd place I've read about this (the other being on Joi Ito's site.) The language used to describe his ouster is pretty harsh, but there doesn't seem to be much explanation behind it to distinguish "being driven out" from "having left".

6. I'd like to know if Mr. Parker maintains a weblog or website of some sort. I like to enter entrepreneur's minds to see if I'm on track; a weblog belonging to a two-time entrepreneur just 1-2 years older than I am (if he's 23) would be too juicy to miss.
